Jasmine Miller; The Dream Chaser. Daryne Towne; The man atop the world. Naomi Kindle; The Broken Hearted. Jake Ocean; The Cowboy. Only a few years ago, these four people came together, and created something that'd forever change the people around them.
A few miles away from where the salty waters of the Atlantic ocean lap the sandy shores of North Carolina, A school unlike your average High is opening it's doors to a new generation Equestrian enthusiasts and riders. Silent Pine Riding School, however, is not a set place. Teens from all over the Americas and beyond have flocked to this school for the years that it has been open; weither they need to simply enjoy a simpler time in the companionship of similar people and the amazing creatures and friends they have come to respect, or a life needs to be shed in it's entirity. Silent Pines is like a pristine, quite shelter in a world that is constantly becomming more complex and rushed.
But more than horsemanship is being taught. Acceptances. Patiences. Even Hope. These messages have been spread throughout a community of all whom enroll as students pass into the barns and grounds. But perhaps one of the greatest messages; never give up.
However, behind the closed doors, is everything as perfect as it could be? After a few years in running, can the school be dissolving from the founders down. If so, is there anything the students can do to keep their haven open?
Strengths will be tested, weaknesses pushed, and dreams reached or broken.
Welcome to Silent Pines.
The People You Should Know
Jasmine Miller-
The Dream Chaser
She is very wealthy, even at twenty-three she has well over half a billion dollars, all of which she inherited from her deceased father. Stunning in her beauty, although not the prettiest in her group of friends, she looks like she has had the best life of all but in truth her life has been very isolated. No friends, no real education, she has been home schooled through eighth grade at which point her mother was diagnosed with cancer. She died a few weeks later leaving Jasmine alone with her uncaring rich father. The older man gave the girl what ever she wanted except the love and care of a real family. She had taken riding lessons in hunter under saddle since age ten, riding her old quarter horse, Jaks. When her mother died her dream of competing at Quarter Horse Congress was crushed until her father made her take up the lessons again. Jasmine has now come back from riding the East Coast Circuit and has just learned about her father’s death. This young woman has contributed to most of the costs of building this riding school and is ready to fight for her dreams of competing in Congress.
Naomi Kendle-
The Broken Hearted
Naomi is one of the most hidden and secretive people you will ever meet; although her beauty draws attention from everyone she doesn’t realize it. Her beauty easily passes beyond that of Jasmine and at twenty she has experienced more misery and hate than most could even think about. At the young age of ten she lost her family to a fire that stormed through the whole farm, killing every animal, all of her family while she was at an event. Naomi still feels guilty for not having been there, for not have seen it coming. After the fire she was sent from foster home to foster home, no one really wanting to keep her for long as she was depressed, moody, and hateful. This kept going for three years until she came to the Jones’, they were the first to treat her like their own child; it was also the first time Naomi had been on a horse since the fire. Her foster parents gave her a rare brindle stallion registered as Tomorrow’s Yesterday, but known as Yester. They went on to compete with some of the toughest competition around, winning against them all. Then one year, when she was eighteen, she suddenly stopped, due to a horrible accident. After being in the hospital for over a month she vowed to never ride a horse again or to have a special bond with anyone else, for fear she would be hurt or hurt the other. She has decided to join her friends in building this riding school hoping to teach others, trying and forget her past.
Daryn Towne-
On Top of the World
Daryn grew up at a huge top notch western performance horse stable. Now at only twenty-two he has been to the Quarter Horse World show twice and the Paint World show five times. His parents were always doing something with the horses, training, riding or even mucking out stalls. They were the kind of people who believed that trainers should be involved with their stable and not just ride the horses. From the age of two he was riding about on the stable grounds as which ever horse his parents put him on listened to every cue. By the age of ten he had started four yearlings who were beginning to show prospect in the western pleasure world. Receiving his own horse at the age of twelve Daryn taught the unbroken two-year old everything it knew, going on to win the youth western pleasure at congress two years later. Since then he has always been training some of the best western horses out there including western riding, horsemanship, trail and western pleasure. He met with his old friend Jake with their two new friends, Jasmine and Naomi, deciding to start a riding school for all disciplines.
Jake Ocean-
The Cowboy
Jake grew up on a working ranch, with over a thousand head of cattle and a hundred head of horses. From the small age of nine he was waking up a four every morning to gather eggs from their fifty chickens and was told to start feeding animals. His family, parents and older sister, were constantly working, trying to keep up with the rest of the world. Day after day fences would need to be fixed, cattle rounded up, stalls cleaned, animals fed. The work never stopped but not once did Jake complain for it was all he knew. When he turned thirteen he was given a wild bronc to tame as a reward for becoming a teenager. Using the skills he had of ground work and round penning the mustang quickly became the best horse on the ranch. He was able to adjust to each rider and preform everything from cutting to roping. Now at twenty-three Jake has trained and sold well over two-hundred working ranch horses and has just recently come off of years of working non-stop. He joined his friends at Silent Pines for hope of teaching the youth more about riding.
