Dorthea stood in what was now to be her room for the next few months. To her, it did appear comfortable; just spacey enough for her, with a single bed, night table, and desk. However...at the moment it had a slightly spooky appeal. As there was currently nothing else really in it.
Well, that wasn't true, either. Dorthea herself was there, as three large, stuffled duffle bags full of her clothes and other things, and two suitcases filled simularly. But the walls were considerably bare of emotion, and even the solitary lamp in the corner was shadeless. The closet appeared even more barron, as Dorthea was so used to looking in and seeing a whole rainbow of colored clothing staring back at her.
She heaved a sigh and bent down to pick up one of her bags.
" Well...I suppose I can fix this quick, can't I...Time to actually do some work."

After Dorthea left Aria had walked over to the wash rack and spent a good amount of time getting more wet then the horse did. Upon scraping off the excess water and putting the mare back in her stall, filling her water bucket and tossing her a flake of hay Aria guessed that enough time had gone by for Dorthea to already be done packing, but went up to the dorm anyways.
Climbing the stairs she snuck around the door and into the room, hiding on one side of the door she waited until Dorthea had her back turned. Leaping from the door she shouted Boooooo loudly enough to almost scare her self.
These dorms are kinda crappy aren't they?
She asked glancing around the grey room. Not a lot of time seemed to be put into the rooms, but they were big enough, which was better than nothing. Drying her hands on a towel she looked down to see that she was making a puddle on the floor. With out realizing it she was still soaked, but three was no point in changing she she tried not to get anything else wet.

For the second time that day, Dorthea jumped. This time, at least, there was nothing she could run in to, as she was still in the center around the room. She did, however, drop her bag with a soft thwump.
"Geesh, you like doing that don't you?" She chided, not even turning around to make sure it actually was Aria.
Dorthea looked around the room again. " I dunno- don't find it that bad really." Shrugging, Dorthea picked up her bag again, and crossed to set it on the bed.
" Maybe I'd be allowed to paint it up or something. If not, pictures can always be plastured over the walls. Could be worse- could smell like men."

Aria smiled almost to the point of laughing. Dancing around she landed on her own bed, not really caring weather it got wet or not.
Yea I've been known for my craziness
Looking around the three person dorm she smiled, it would be a great place to build friendships. Her bright blue comforter began to get a darker wet stain on it, but it would dry as would every thing else.
I'm so glad it doesn't smell like men, blah. I hate it when you are walking down the halls and then it's like wham. You enter this smog of cologne, nasty.
Fiddling with the corner of a poster mounted on the wall she stared at the celling. What they needed was a few paint ball guns and paint balls to decorate the room. It would add color and it would be much more fun than actually painting.

Dorthea ploped down on her bed with next to her bag, where she unzipped the top and pulled out a few very fuzzy tie-dye blankets, and throwing them haphazardly down onto the bed.
" Sounds Fair enough.." Dorthea added, stopping as soon as she hit the bottom, where a small grey and ragged beanie-bear that had seen way too many washes was quickly pulled out and cuddled, stopping unpacking at the moment.
" I wonder if they actually would let us paint the place up a bit...even if we had to paint it over again when we have to leave." Dorthea looked up at the ceiling too, picturing bright, dancing colors in swirling, irregular patterns. Eventually, she fell back with a sigh, noticing the last, empty bed.
" You know who else is sharing the dorm with us?" She asked.

Sitting up Aria pulled open a drawer and set a picture of her mare Witch on the little table. As most of her stuff still lay in bags, she sighed deeply, getting up she started to unpack her things with Dorthea. Unzipping the almost exploding duffel bag she tossed a few posters on the bed and held up a can of bright green paint and three brushes.
Look what I found!
She couldn't contain the excitement in her voice, her father always did like to pack her something fun to do. Pulling her brown hair back into a pony tail she smiled.
Yea that would be really cool if we could paint it, or we could do it with no one noticing
She began to rub her hands together and peer about, an evil theme song started to play in her head. Bending down she picked up the rest of her duffel bag and dumped it's contents onto the floor. Clothing, blankets, books, and who knows what else all spilled out.
Mmmmm ya I think I do her name is Ashley but I don't know her last name

Dorthea had turned to smoothing out her colourful blankets, but ended up untucking a newly folded edge as she turned to over what Aria was exclaiming about. Her eyes landed on the bright can of paint, and seemed, possibly, to brighten themselves.
"Perfect!" Letting go of her blanket, the light girl clapped her hands together in delight, a moved that not many girls around her age did still, but one Dorthea was pretty fond of. " And it's such a pretty shade, too! It'd be just the thing to brighten this place up!"
Leaping up, Dorthea rushed to get another of her bags, and came rushing back to her bed, which she fell onto hard enough to bouncy her three times before comming to settle.
"Maybe that other girl- Ashley? Well...Maybe she'll want to help, even."

Setting the paint can down Aria smiled and flopped back down on her bed, which was now pretty dang wet. Staring up at the celling she smiled, who would have known she would meet another girl about as fiery as she?
Ya I can't believe that my dad would pack something like this, it's so.... not him. Well maybe if it was a pain ball gun but not just paint.
Aria laughed as Dorthea fell, bouncing three times. Sitting up she cross her her legs and bent down to open the can of paint.
We're gonna need her help, you can barely walk, and I don't think I can open this can, here you try.
Aria handed the other girl the can of paint, which she had been struggling to pop open for the past few minutes.

Dorthea took the can of paint in her own hands now, studying it for a few minutes, before finally settling on sitting it between her thighs, in order to hold it tighter.
Setting to it, Dorthea and her usually spry finger set to work prodding and prying at the edges of the can. However, after several minutes, she was no more sucessful than Aria had been, and was sucking a sore finger, with the impression of the can's rim just beginning to disappear.
" Nope. There's no chance you dad packed you a wedge and hammer with it in one of your bags- that'd probably get it off pretty quick."
(Gah...I'm dead today...sorry.)

Aria watched intensely as Dorthea struggled with the small can of paint. It always seemed like you had to buy more things to just get in to the paint than the can actually cost. Smiling slightly as the other girl began sucking on her fingers, she noticed that the cap still hadn't moved. Moving towards her bags she sighed and rummaged through them, coming up unsuccessful.
Nah sorry, nothin'. Maybe we could go to the barn and use a hoof pick?
don't worry I am too

Pulling her finger from her mouth, Dorthea nodded.
" I suppose that'd work as good as anything. Should I go get one or should I go search through Twist's tack and see if I remember where I put Twister's?"
She stood up, clenching and unclenching the fingers on both her hands, as they were still a little stiff from her attempts to pry the lid off, awaiting Aria's answer at the same time trying to remember where exactly she would have put that exact tool when she'd seen her dad unpack Twister's things.

Aria smiled, Ya I guess you could look here and if not we could make our way to the barns
She looked at the paint can, it seemed to be pretty darn determined to stay right where is was. Chewing on her lip slightly she continued to stare at the can, hoping her strong gaze would pop it off, but it didn't work. Sighing she flopped onto her back, then rolled to her stomach to wait for Dorthea's reply.
